KIND WORDS & STORIES FROM THE WOMEN I HAVE HELPED
BUTTERFLY STORIES
After almost 20 years of marriage, Claire faced the daunting decision of separating from her husband. The thought of divorce was overwhelming, shrouded in self-doubt and fears about the impact on her daughter and how others would judge her. Claire’s situation was further complicated by her husband’s excessive gambling, which put their financial assets at significant risk.
Feeling lost and unsure of her future, Claire reached out to me for help. Here’s her story:

CLAIRE
-
After a long marriage Claire’s biggest issues included believing her marital problems were real and worrying where they would live and how she would manage financially.
She feared the potential repercussions, including her husband’s reaction, societal judgment and what the impact would be on her daughter who didn’t know about her Dad’s gambling.
-
Referred by her lawyer, Claire knew she needed to leave her gambler husband but felt trapped and terrified. She believed this was her lot in life.
Sally helped Claire see that she deserved more.
Through empowering sessions, Sally provided the calm, clarity and focus needed to make the decision to move forward.
-
Sally's coaching emphasised moving beyond the divorce story, as remaining there can easily lead to shame, blame, and feeling like a victim. Instead, Sally helped Claire move into a more empowered mindset by:
Beliefs: Dissolving limiting beliefs that kept Claire stuck, such as thinking her marriage was her 'lot' in life.
Mindset: Enabling Claire to release her emotions in a safe contained way and focus on the positives in her life.
Future: Helping Claire envision a new exciting future for herself and her daughter and hold onto that vision during tough times.
-
Sally identified that Claire was in superwoman mode and experiencing burnout. She helped Claire explore options for support, helping her see that asking for help, such as from her employer, was a strength not a weakness:
Focusing on Claire’s needs and how to fulfil them, Sally helped Claire step into her best self and eliminate alcohol as a crutch.
Getting clear on boundaries and putting them in writing.
Building a support team around Claire, including friends, legal, and financial help.
-
Sally helped Claire focus on facts, not emotions, when communicating with her daughter and soon- to-be ex before meetings.
Understanding triggers that threw Claire into a disempowered state.
Understanding her and her stbx’s place in the grief cycle.
Helping Claire understand her options and make informed choices for herself.
Understanding the communication and decision-making styles of both her and her stbx, as well as their responses to conflict.
-
Exploring Claire’s strengths and helping her build resilience.
Guiding Claire to step into empowered states on demand when things were getting difficult.
Using mind-body work to help Claire embody the person she wanted to be.

“Sally helped me realise my feelings and situation were real, and that separating from my husband was the right decision.
She was non-judgmental, listened, and challenged me in a healthy way, providing practical advice and support through podcasts, videos, and motivational WhatsApps.
